200 Jahre Commercialstrasse

This book sheds light on the fascinating history of Commercialstrasse, which will celebrate its 200th anniversary in the summer of 2023. The construction of this important traffic artery lasted from 1818 to 1823 and was a decisive factor in the economic development of the region. The opening of Commercialstrasse greatly facilitated the transport of goods and people via the San Bernardino and Splügen Passes, giving the region a new economic boost.
The book is dedicated to the historical development and impressive engineering structures and bridges along the Commercialstrasse.
