The Convent of St. John in Müstair was founded in the 8th Century. It holds the largest best preserved fresco cycle from the early Middle Ages in the monastery church. The Museum provides insight into 1,200 years of history, culture and religious life. Since 1983, the Convent of St. John in Müstair is part of the UNESCO world heritage.

The museum is open from May to October: MON-SAT: 13:30-17 and 9-12 clock, Sundays and public holidays: 13.30 - 17 clock. November-April: MON-SAT 10-11 and 13.30 bis 16.30 clock, Sundays and public holidays: 13.30 - 16.30 clockOn the 25th of December the museum and convent shop remain closed. Guided tours in the museum (1.15 h) are possible from 6 people and are included in the price. Guided tours of the convent church (1.30 h) are offered from 6 people for a surcharge of CHF 10.00.
